Welcome
Shopping at Lowfields is much more an enjoyable leisure experience than a routine chore! No expense has been spared in the building of the Lowfields Farm Shop. When you visit you will not be entering a refurbished out-building. The tasteful design and layout of the building, and the tranquillity of its setting is light years away from the trolley dash culture. The Shop is set in its own grounds, is ultra-modern in its furnishings and equipment, and yet reassuringly traditional in its atmosphere. Even the roof beams are steeped in history, having been rescued from the old High Level Bridge over the River Tyne at Newcastle.

They contrast in a comfortable way with the gleaming stainless steel of the Butchery and Display areas. The Butchery displays delicious cuts of Beef, Lamb and Pork from their own Farm, along with locally-sourced Venison and Game Birds from local shoots and estates. They also now produce our own speciality sausages and their bacon is cured on site. On entry you will feel comfortable and very much at home. The shelves are packed with Preserves, Marmalades, Chutneys, fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Sauces, Farm-pressed Apple Juice, Organic Mineral Waters, Home-Made Cakes and Pastries, Cheeses and much more!

Lowfields do not sell 45 different types of Jam as does your local Supermarket. Those carefully selected Jams and Preserves they do sell have been produced by individuals who are often personal friends and neighbours. And this is the case with all of the items on their shelves. Lowfields can guarantee the traceability and freshness of all of their products, and you can therefore shop not only in comfort but also with confidence. All Lowfields chicken have been sourced locally and have lived a free range happy life. And, by the way, the children can enjoy the outdoor Play Area while you shop!

Events

The Moralees feel it important that the Farm Shop retains its close links with Farming and the realities and pleasures of country life.

To this end we have planned for regular events to be held at the Shop, on the Farm, and in the surrounding countryside.

As a customer the Shop may be your initial focal point, but they hope that you will come to appreciate Lowfields in a broader context and join Lowfields at frequent intervals for :-
  • Nature walks on and around the farm
  • Events aimed at introducing children to local wildlife, traditional farming methods, healthy eating and the processes involved in food production
  • Cookery demonstrations by first class local chefs
  • Specialist talks and discussion groups

Make good food an important element in your life. Lowfields would love to help.
